"Have you tried rebooting it?"

I grew up in a small coastal town in eastern Virginia outside of Virginia Beach. Beginning at the age of 5 I was begging Santa Claus for a computer. It was spurred on by a trip to Tomorrowland, inside Walt Disney World, earlier that summer. It instilled in me how important computers and technology would become in the years to come, and I wanted to be a part of that change. A few years later for Christmas, I received a Nintendo system. It wasn't a computer per se, but I was excited to learn what made it tick. Before I had finished high school, I had taken every computer course they could offer; including basic programming and office systems.

At the age of eighteen, I enlisted in active duty in the United States Army as a Telecom/Network Technician. I learned a lot, and reinforced skills in leadership, teamwork, and discipline. While attending the Military Occupational Skill training at Fort Gordon, Georgia, I graduated an honor student. Afterward, while stationed with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, I was quickly advanced in rank to supervisor over my own team. My superiors commended me, and I was awarded for my troubleshooting and supervisory skills.

I separated from the United States Army with an Honorable Discharge, staying in that area to pursue my degree at Austin Peay State University. While there, I worked part-time as a Computer Help-Desk Tech, and was an active part of a Professional Business Fraternity. Classes included Decision Science, C++ programming, Statistical Mapping, and HTML web development. I graduated with a B.B.A. with a focus on Management.

After I relocated to the Kansas City area, I decided to further my education at Centriq Training. I completed the IT Admin track in 2013, and worked as a Technical Analyst for a small local company. Inspired by some programmer colleagues, I later returned to Centriq Training to pursue a career as a .Net Developer.
